The Knoxville FFA Chapter has its first ever state FFA president in Mickayla McGill. She is currently taking part in officer training sessions, and will serve as state president in the 2020-2021 school year. She says that FFA inspired her to get out of her comfort zone, which has allowed her to develop invaluable leadership, speaking, and critical thinking skills.
“I’ve had a lot of amazing experiences through FFA that have allowed me to gain that knowledge and those skills, whether it was competing as a Knoxville FFA member or getting involved as a district officer in my junior and senior year of high school. Those were very big experiences that helped me gain these different skill sets and the knowledge. I had a lot of friends through FFA, both at Knoxville and other schools who allowed me to see the different aspects of FFA and agriculture and help me build on those skill sets.”
