One of the best moments of the PCM softball season is the #7 moments on this year’s top 10 countdown of the top sports moments of the year for the Mustangs. PCM played host to Roland-Story on June 29th in conference action, and came out on top in a back-and-forth contest.
PCM took an early 2-0 lead after the first, but the Norsemen took the lead in the top of the second with three runs scored. PCM tied it back up in the bottom of the frame, but Roland-Story held a 2-1 advantage in the fourth to take a 5-4 lead.
PCM had an answer, scoring three in the bottom of the sixth to go back on top for good. Despite a Norsemen rally, the Mustangs were able to seal the win and avenge a loss to Roland-Story from earlier in the season.
Head Coach Shaun Hudnut said after the game that it was one of the more gritty performances of the season by his team. Sidney Shaver led the way with four base hits in the game while Paige Steenhoek pitched the complete game.
PCM finished 5-15 and said goodbye to one senior.
