As the city of Pleasantville continues to expand, new business opportunities are becoming available. City Manager Joe Mrstik says that the city and Chamber of Commerce are working together to explore what kinds of new businesses would be suitable to bring to the city.

“We’re working directly with the Chamber right now on some new and unique ideas to spark some interest in our downtown. Right now, we have the grocery store downtown that was closed down a few years ago. A lot of interest in that, what’s going to go in there, what type of businesses would be functional in Pleasantville. And then there’s an area on the west end of town, which is currently an open 13-14 acre field next to People’s Bank. We’re working with a developer to make some commercial and residential parcels up there available.”

Mrstik adds that a new grocery store, automotive parts store, and even startup businesses would all be suitable to operate on the city’s west side.
