The Pella City Council will continue a focus on water main improvements at their meeting Tuesday.

Council will review a cost participation agreement with Pella Corporation for Clark Street Water Main Improvements, with each party responsible to pay for their portion of the project based on as-constructed quantities and calculated using unit prices as bid. Under the terms of the proposed agreement, the City of Pella has agreed to handle the project’s contract administration and pay $152,901, with Pella Corp assuming the remaining balance of the contract at $214,005.

Assuming the cost-sharing agreement is approved, council will then award a contract with Synergy Contracting for $367,000 to reconstruct more than 2,200 linear feet of the Clark Street Water Main, with completion expected by the end of November.

Council will also schedule a public hearing to review bids for the East Interchange Infrastructure Improvements (Water Main and Force Main) project. The force main construction is located along East Oskaloosa Street from 240th Street to 250th Street and extending south on 250th Street to south of Highway 163. The water main construction is located along East Oskaloosa Street from Baseline Drive to 250th Street and extending south on 250th Street to south of Highway 163; all in the City of Pella. Estimated cost for the project is just shy of $1 million ($987,140).

The Pella City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Pella Public Safety Complex and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will also be available electronically:
