On behalf of the citizens of the City of Pella, Mayor Don DeWaard extended condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of Genis Urgell Rueda and Nelson Joani Figueroa. The two men lost their lives this past weekend while performing underground utility excavation near Lincoln Elementary. During the August 4th Council meeting, Mayor DeWaard shared condolences to the families of these men, and those involved in this incident. He also extended appreciation to first responders on scene, as well as contractors, City of Pella staff, and other neighbors who assisted.
