The #2 moment for Pleasantville of this past school year was back in February on the day of the district wrestling tournaments. Pleasantville hosted a district tournament, and got one wrestler through to state.
Heavyweight Matthew Kauffman had quite the up-and-down day. It started with a dominant performance in the semifinal match with a fall in 0:34 over Chad Kent of Wayne.
Kauffman nearly went the distance in the championship match, but fell by fall in 5:34 to Ryley Snell of Interstate 35.
That sent Kauffman to the second place match, still with a chance to go to state. It was supposed to be a rematch with Chad Kent, but Kauffman was awarded the win in a no decision to go to state.
Kauffman went on to the state tournament and did not place. He finished 36-7.
