The top moment of the school year for Pleasantville was one of the first events of the school year. Opening night for the football team brought the Trojans to Lynnville-Sully. It was the Trojans coming out on top in dominant fashion 45-14, but the big story was the phenomenal performance by running back Cale Anthony.

After a scoreless first quarter, Anthony capped off a seven-play drive with a 27-yard touchdown carry to put the Trojans up 6-0. Anthony added two more scores in the quarter, one of which was a 74-yard carry. Lynnville-Sully was able to find the end zone once before halftime, and it was a 24-8 Pleasantville lead at the break.

Ragan Krichau joined the party in the third quarter with a 54 yard touchdown reception to put the Trojans up 32-8. He picked up a 42-yard scoop ‘n score on the first play of the fourth quarter to increase the lead to 45-8. One last touchdown for the Hawks completed the scoring, and Pleasantville took home the big win.

Anthony racked up 339 yards on 22 carries and found the end zone five times in the game. He finished the season as the leading rusher in Class 2A, and is taking his talents to the Iowa State Cyclones beginning this fall.
