With fall sports beginning soon, the Indianola athletics program will rely heavily on the experience gained from the baseball/softball season as far as safety for both competitors and fans. Indianola Activities Director Lee Nelson tells KNIA News the experience of running a successful sports season will help the district navigate the times we live in.
“The biggest thing for us, we know have a season under our belts and can draw on those experiences on those things that work well and things that we need to tweak. We know that they are different types of activities that will be held, but we can take what we know from what happened this summer and use it to make the best decisions, and certainly help us keep student safety at the top of our list.”
Nelson also said there will be some responsibility placed on spectators to behave appropriately, as it will be impossible to police everything.
