The Knoxville Library has met conditions for state accreditation, the State Library of Iowa has announced. The Knoxville Public Library has been recognized for its efforts in all areas of library operations including governance and funding, staffing, library collection, services, public relations, access, and facilities.

377 of Iowa’s 542 libraries are accredited. Accredited libraries receive a higher rate of compensation through the State Library’s Enrich Iowa program. The Knoxville Library’s mission is to provide multiple resources for recreation and lifelong learning, to foster a learning environment for children, teens, and adults, and to provide access to technology for the residents of Knoxville and rural Marion County.
