While there will be a few new faces, the Pella Christian volleyball team has high hopes of stepping closer to a state tournament appearance in the upcoming 2020 season.
Despite losing four seniors, including starting setter Lizzy Posthuma, outside Molly Bolt, libero Anna Van Zee, and middle Emma Dunsbegen, Head Coach Joanna Settles says a strong core group of juniors will play key roles in pushing the Eagles further into the playoffs and higher into the standings.
Outside hitter Avey Amelse, Middle Sarah Gritters, and Defensive Specialist Natalie Harrill started every match for the Eagles in 2019, and will be some of the key returning athletes. Trinity Vos as a hitter, Larissa Pleima as a DS, and Kyah Chamberlin as a setter will look to step up their roles, with a mix of seniors and sophomores rounding out the P.C. lineup.
The Eagles open the 2020 season at the Bondurant tournament on August 29th.
