A Knoxville woman faces felony charges following an incident Sunday morning. Around 6:04 a.m., 33-year-old Jennifer Lynn Carter entered a home she didn’t have permission to be in. Carter began assaulting the victim and the victim’s girlfriend while they were sleeping. During the encounter, Carter threw the victim’s iPhone, causing it to break. Following the assault, a verbal argument ensued.
Carter said that she was there to pick up her 8-year-old son. The victim and the victim’s girlfriend denied having the son overnight. As Carter was leaving the residence, she threatened to damage the victim’s vehicle. Carter then broke out the driver’s window of the victim’s minivan.
Court filings show that the victim had a no contact order against Carter. A warrant was issued, and Carter was arrested. She faces felony charges of 2nd Degree Burglary and 4th Degree Criminal Mischief, and a court appearance is scheduled for August 20th.
