When the IHSAA announced the change of the football season to seven games, schools were left scrambling to get non-district games scheduled. Pleasantville was able to keep their original top two requests in Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Lynnville-Sully. Both are on the road, but Activities Director Joel Allman says that their situation turned out pretty well, all things considered.
“Luckily we were able to keep our top two games. So we were able to keep who we selected number one and number two that we prefer to play for non-district. So that wasn’t too much of a change or too much work on our end because we were able to keep those opponents. Going to seven games obviously is going to be a little weird with less home games, but we’re just going to have to deal with that this year. And also, everyone is going to make the playoffs, which we really like, where at least if we get shut down for Covid reasons, that we’re at least going to have a chance to advance in the playoffs for football.”
