The Twin Cedars Cross Country Program is looking for bigger things in 2020. While the pandemic is changing a few things during meets, the girls squad has sights set on the state meet in Fort Dodge this year. The Sabers got Rylee Dunkin to state last fall and Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports the expectation is not just Dunkin, but the whole team this season.
Verwers:
“State qualifier in Rylee Dunkin so that was big. It was the first state qualifier since the baseball team in 2014, and I think the girls are looking to qualify as a team this year.”
Dunkin earned all-state with a seventh place finish last year. The entire team from last season returns and Verwers says the experience will pay off in several meets in 2020.
