Eddie Moore Jr., recognized as one of the nation’s top motivational speakers and educators, will present a live and virtual discussion on his book “The Guide for White Women Who Teach Black Boys” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, in Central College’s Douwstra Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited due to COVID-19 distancing restrictions and face masks are required. It also can be livestreamed at central.edu/watch. A book signing will be held following the event. Moore’s book is available for $25 in the Central College Spirit Shoppe or online at centralspiritshoppe.com. Moore has pursued and achieved success in academia, business, diversity, leadership and community service. In 1996, he started America & MOORE, LLC, to provide comprehensive diversity, privilege and leadership training and workshops. He currently serves as director of The Privilege Institute and The National White Privilege Conference, both founded under his direction to provide opportunities and possibilities for research, publications, speaking and collaborations by those committed to true social and institutional change. Moore worked at Central from 2001-05 as director of intercultural life.
