As schools prepare for the unknown that the fall season will bring, it’s important to reflect on the success many programs had by finishing out the summer baseball and softball seasons.
Pleasantville Activities Director Joel Allman describes his experience as the academic calendar turns and why simply playing the games is an accomplishment in its own right.
“Obviously, we had a lot more regulations that we had to follow. In my opinion, I thought it was a successful season. I know there was a number of teams that had to shut down, but the majority of baseball/softball groups were able to finish out their seasons, at least from what I heard. So I would consider that a success that we could at least return to summer sports and summer activities and get back to a little bit of normal.”
After the Trojans finished their baseball and softball seasons with 4-11 and 7-10 records respectively, all eyes are on the football season opener. Pleasantville will open its season on the road at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Friday, August 28th. Hear select football games from the Trojans this fall on the KNIA3 stream at KNIAKRLS.com.
