Several very inexperienced runners are on the Knoxville Girls Cross Country Squad this season. So inexperienced in fact, this season will be their first time running competitively. Girls Coach Mikayla Splavec tells KRLS Sports the upperclassmen and more experienced runners are lending a helping hand.
Splavec:
“Our returning girls have actually been helpful in that and great leaders in that too. We’re actually going to have a team meeting and talk about how cross country meets work and what that’s like.”
Splavec says Natalie Collins and Taylor Jones are looking pretty good through the first few practices. The Panthers will open the season August 24th with their own Early Bird Invitational.
