With a plethora of underclassman talent returning to the squad, the Indianola girls cross country team has their sights set on a return trip as a team to Fort Dodge, after qualifying to the state meet last season. Head coach Kim Arndt tells KNIA Sports the athletes know what they have to do to qualify.

“What’s nice is, sometimes you talk about making the state meet, and they don’t know what it takes to get to that point. The nice thing about this season is they know what they did last season and how hard they had to work to get there. So some of that is out of the way which is really nice, we can focus on that. So i’m going to try and get some of the participants from last year to transfer that information to some of the other kids, how much work it is, how much fun it is, that it’s possible, and what it means to the program. That’s obviously our goal, to get to the state meet.”
