The Indianola School Board approved their Emergency Operations Plan at their most recent meeting, after an annual review by staff. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the plan is comprehensive for a number of situations.
“Our plan is pretty detailed, and it takes what is called an All-Hazards approach, and meets all the requirements for what the legislation calls a high-quality plan. We are pretty comfortable on where the plan is, however last year our plan was to put an emphasis on extra training this year, much of which got cancelled by the pandemic.”
Sathoff also said forming the plan involved cooperation with the Iowa Department of Education, as well as local partners such as the Indianola Police Department.
