The Iowa Girls Coaches Association released the 2020 All-State softball team Thursday, and several athletes from schools covered by KNIA/KRLS Radio made the list.

In Class 5A, Indianola Junior Destiny Lewis was a 1st team selection for the second consecutive season, and has made the list of Iowa’s best players all three summers in her career. Destiny’s 10 home runs ranked 4th best in 5A softball. Fellow Junior Teammate Kate Kralik was dominant in the circle and earned 2nd team All-State recognition, with a 9-5 win-loss record. Her 1.34 ERA was 8th best in 5A, her 0.72 WHIP was 4th best among the biggest class, and her 132 strikeouts was the 3rd most among pitchers in 5A.

Pella Christian had three players make the roster in Class 2A. Senior Chloe Morgan was a 1st team honoree, leading the Eagles with 23 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. Morgan was a 3rd team selection in 2019. Freshman Emri Agre was recognized on the All-State 2nd team after a breakout season in which she finished in the top 20 in Class 2A in average, RBI, hits, and total bases, finishing with a .522 average and 26 RBI. Cheyanne Collins, also a senior, was a 3rd team All-State member in 2A, driving in 23 runs with a .391 average and winning nine games as a pitcher with 56 strikeouts.

Pleasantville had two honorees on the 2020 Class 2A All-State softball team. Junior Josie Sowers made her third career appearance on the elite list, this time as a first-team selection after receiving 2nd team honors in 2019. Sowers had the 11th best batting average in Class 2A (.526) this summer. Teammate Amber McKinney was a 3rd team honoree, with her .869 slugging percentage rating 14th best in Class 2A.

Twin Cedars was well represented on the 2020 1A All-State team after finishing in the Top 15 rankings in 2020. Sophomore Grace Bailey was a Class 1A 1st team All-State Selection, and drove in 32 runs — 5th best in 1A, with a .432 average. She also had the 6th best ERA (1.43) and 6th most victories (16) among 1A pitchers. Bailey was a 3rd team All-State selection in 2019. Freshman Rylee Dunkin was 2nd team All-State, with a.453 AVG, with five triples, 39 runs scored, and 31 stolen bases — all three categories where Dunkin was 2nd best in all of Class 1A. Saber Sophomore Teammate Brooke Roby landed on the 3rd team, and had four triples–3rd most in 1A, and 23 RBI. Roby was on the Class 1A All-State 2nd team in 2019 as well.

Melcher-Dallas was once again well-represented on the Class 1A All-State Softball team. Junior Haley Godfrey earned 2nd team honors again after having that recognition in 2019. Godfrey hit .531, 14th best in 1A, with 24 RBI and 29 ryan scored. Teammate Kynser Reed had a .426 average with 4 home runs and 25 RBI.

PCM Freshman Riley Johannes was a 2nd team honoree in Class 3A for All-State, with a .367 AVG and 20 RBI.

Class 5A:
