The PCM volleyball team enters the 2020 season with their sights set on marked improvement. The Mustangs won only five games last season, and graduated four seniors. This year, several key players return, and have shown promise throughout the first week of practice. Head Coach Mike Vittetoe says that he hopes this year’s team can use their years of combined experience to turn those close losses into wins.

“Hopefully we do improve on that five-win season. There was a lot of games that you just can’t tell on the win-loss, a lot of the close games that we lost were just lost by a couple points. And now that we have a bunch of seniors this year, that usually flips. Usually the close games, if you have a bunch of seniors, usually you start winning more of those close games than losing. I’m hoping that the experience turns that around. And our defense looks a lot better than last year.”

PCM has nine seniors on the roster this fall, four of whom played in the vast majority of the team’s sets last year. The Mustangs get the season underway August 25th at a tournament in Newton.
