It was all Kyle Larson, all the time in the Ninth Annual Capitani Classic as he led all 30 laps and pocketed $50,000 for his efforts. He started on the pole after winning the dash and quickly took off building a six second lead before a red halted things, but even runner-up David Gravel was unable to capitalize on the restart. Larson said on the final restart he wanted to block Gravel’s path and hoped he chose the right line to take.

Larson:
“I felt like I ran a pretty good race. I wasn’t sure what to do just because Gravel gets around on the bottom so well around here and I didn’t want to leave the door open on the last restart.”

Logan Schuchart (SHOE-hart) completed the podium. Donny Schatz (SHOTS) nearly stole the show on Saturday. He was forced to change a motor after his qualifying race that sent him to the C-Main. He roared from 17th to the win in the C transferring him to the B-Main where he made another charge from the back to finish fourth the last transfer position. He got as high as 12th before the checkered flag fell. The Knoxville Raceway takes this coming weekend off and will be back in action with two weekly shows on Friday and Saturday August 28th and 29th.
