Qualifying as a team to last year’s state meet at Fort Dodge, the Indianola girls cross country squad will want to meet and exceed expectations for this season. Head coach Kim Arndt tells KNIA Sports the squad brings back a lot of talent, but replacing senior leaders will be difficult.
“I’m excited for this season, we have a good part of our group back. We lost some valuable seniors as far as leadership and talent, and that won’t be easy to replace. But I think the kids seem excited to get back at it. I’m excited, and we’ll go out there and see what we can do.”
The Indians begin their season next Tuesday at Ankeny Centennial.
