With three longtime runners set for the first varsity spots for the Indianola Boys Cross Country team in Logan Hoger, Curtis Johnson, and Joseph DeWall, the squad will need to look for some of the younger talent to step up. Head coach Kevin Barnes tells KNIA Sports there are a lot of names that have already stood out.
“We have some guys who have worked really hard over the summer. Ryder Downey if he decides to run, Jack Runyan has looked really good this summer, I would expect big things from him. After that we are looking at sophomore Hunter Seifrig, maybe senior Eli Ross or junior Keane Barnes, or maybe sophomore Bowen Downey, it all depends on how they perform.”
The Indians will see their first competition on September 1st.
