The South Central Conference Girls Cross Country race last season was between Davis County and Chariton with the Mustangs of Davis County taking the title. Knoxville was third behind Chariton. This season, the Mustangs and Chargers appear to be the co-favorites to win it again. Knoxville Girls Head Coach Mikayla Splavec tells KRLS Sports she hopes her team can pick off a few positions this season and be a little closer to the top.

Splavec:
“Davis County and Chariton are going to be pretty strong this year. Our girls have some goals this year as well and have been running strong and hope to take home a conference champion.”

Knoxville’s Norah Pearson was the individual conference champion last season. The South Central Conference meet is October 13th hosted by Davis County.
