One thing that the Twin Cedars Girls Cross Country Squad will work on this season is cutting the gap between lead runner Rylee Dunkin and the fifth runner on the squad. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports it is important for the girls to finish closer together and spread their finishes over the top 20 rather then the top 50.
Verwers:
“We’re just going to have to cut the gap with our girls and then start to finish more together, and we need to finish in the top 20 than in the top 50 and a top ten finsih would be good to get to that state meet.”
Verwers has no doubt that the girls are capable of running in the top 20 at every meet. The Sabers open up on August 27th at Collins-Maxwell.
