It’s been ten years since the Pella Christian boys cross country team has been to the state meet as a team, which ended a run of three appearances in four years for the team from 2007-2010.

If the Eagles are to make a 10th group showing in Fort Dodge this fall, Head Coach Mike Buchheit says it will be due to the growth in depth they’ve been working to build over the past few years.

Buchheit says this year’s team has the potential to end the drought for the team as a whole to get to Fort Dodge, and a mix of youth and experience could push them to that ultimate goal.

Brayton Juffer leads a returning group, along with Micah DeHaan and Kaden Van Wyngarden, as well as newcomer Ethan Milligan, a senior, and freshmen Ryan Natelborg, key runners expected to post several solid scores this fall.

The Eagles start the season on Saturday, August 29th at a quad meet featuring Pella, Grinnell, and Oskaloosa at Central College.
