Despite the heavy rainfall that passed through the area last week, all of Warren and Marion County, as well as nearly the entire state of Iowa, is classified as Abnormally Dry by the US Drought Monitor. Abnormally dry conditions means corn shows drought stress, with dry soil. Portions of Madison County to the west and Polk County to the north with moderate to severe drought conditions, and further extreme drought conditions further west including Dallas County.
