Marion County Highway T15 will soon be receiving major upgrades, according to the Marion County Road Department. The highway, which runs between Knoxville and Pella, will be rehabilitated starting within the next two years. Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian explains what to expect.
“We do have one of our largest overlay projects planned in our five-year program, which would be Highway T15 between Knoxville and Pella. That’s going to be a major pavement rehabilitation project. We’ll start out in the next year or two with some concrete patching, and follow that up by maybe some shoulder, earthwork, curve realignments, and eventually, an overlay and pavement rehabilitation.”
No dates have been set for this long-term project, partially due to COVID-19. The Department has delayed its bid letting to January, and hopes to get a better idea of revenue impacts at that time.
