The Pella School Board received an initial return to learn update at their meeting Monday. The board heard from building administrators about the first three days of class since the COVID-19 pandemic closed buildings in March. The principals reported positive results from students being excited to be back in buildings, generally high attendance, and a majority of kids complying with changes implemented due to the ongoing pandemic.
The board also finalized 19 hires made by the district prior to the beginning of classes on August 20th, reviewed fundraising requests for 2020-21, and updated the district’s facilities use agreement to include additional language based on the ongoing public health declaration by Governor Reynolds.
The board also tabled accepting a donation for a soccer Mini-Pitch System at Lincoln Elementary from Musco and the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
