Fans won’t be able to see Central College football on the field this fall, but they can follow the Dutch in action on KRLS. 12 “KRLS Classic” broadcasts of memorable games from the past 14 years will air each Saturday at 1 p.m. from Sept. 5-Nov. 21.
The games include the most recent one played at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium, the epic 38-37 overtime NCAA Division III playoff victory over Wisconsin-Oshkosh Nov. 23 in which the Dutch roared back from a 31-7 halftime deficit. Also featured is an equally chaotic 57-56 overtime thriller against Wartburg College Nov. 9 in which Central squandered a 49-14 third-quarter advantage, only to come back with a final-play 2-point conversion for the win which led to an American Rivers Conference title share.
Other contests that will re-air include a surprisingly lopsided 37-7 playoff romp past Saint John’s in 2007 and a 50-49 overtime victory at Whitworth in the 2016 season opener. There are even a pair of disappointing but equally memorable Dutch losses, including a frustrating finish in a 42-40 playoff defeat against Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2010.
