A Knoxville man is seriously injured following an accident involving a dump truck in northwest Iowa Tuesday morning. 55-year-old Cecil Ray Green of Knoxville was spotting a dump truck performing a three-point turn in a construction zone at the intersection of State Highway 7 and County Road N28 near Fonda in Pocahontas County.

Green was standing directly behind the dump truck and was struck by the middle of the endgate. Green was unaware that the dump truck was backing up, and the driver did not see Green in either mirror. Green was transported to MercyOne in Sioux City with serious injuries. Agencies assisting were Fonda Fire/EMS and the Iowa State Patrol.
