Cases of COVID-19 saw another double-digit jump in Marion County, according to the latest information from Marion County Public Health. As of Tuesday afternoon, a total of 343 positive COVID-19 tests have been reported in Marion County since the outbreak began, which was 13 more than reported Monday evening. The numbers reflect a rise of 65 new cases since Friday and 178 since August 1st. Over the past two weeks, Marion County has reported a 15.2% positive test rate over total tests taken during that 14 day period, which is now above 15% threshold in which school districts can request online only education if coupled with 10% absenteeism. As of Tuesday, Marion County Public Health had reported 248 individuals recovered from COVID-19, with no fatalities. Four individuals are currently hospitalized in Marion County with the virus.
