The sixth grade students attending Indianola Middle School will be participating in a virtual learning environment after two teachers tested positive for COVID-19, and 13 overall teachers are in quarantine. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News no students were determined to have been at risk near the teachers at the orientation day.
“The question has arisen if students were exposed during the orientation, but that was very well planned and organized. There was never any extended amount of time in one place, people were appropriately physically distanced, and there should have been no exposure to students.”
The teachers will be quarantined until September 4th, with in-person education resuming on September 8th.
