A significant growth of cases in the State of Iowa has prompted Governor Kim Reynolds to close bars, taverns, breweries and nightclubs in Black Hawk, Dallas Johnson, Linn, Polk and Story counties until September 20th, among other safety measures.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County has seen a growth of 34 cases since August 24th for a total of 692 cases to affect the area, which marks a growth of nearly 200 cases this month with less than a week to go in August. Active cases are also staying steady, with 181 active cases, a slight rise of 6 since the August 24th update. Active cases over the month of August have slightly dropped since an apex of 220 in late July. Warren County has five deaths from the virus.
