The City of Pella will continue a focus on water infrastructure after approving another contract this week for water main improvements.

City Administrator Mike Nardini says the Pella City Council approved an agreement with Thorpe Water Development Company of Ankeny for $699,148 to construct a force main and water main to connect to the Lely Industrial Development near Exit 45 on Highway 163. Those improvements will be completed along Oskaloosa Street east of Eagle Lane late next spring.

This is in addition to projects ongoing at Fifield Road and Clark Street, which are expected to be finished by November, which will cost the city approximately $950,000 combined, which includes a cost-share agreement with Pella Corporation paying $153,000 for the Clark Street Project.
