9 a.m UPDATE: Marion County had a second COVID-19 death reported on the state of Iowa Coronavirus website today. The death was an elderly person, over 80 years old with pre-existing health conditions.
Marion County Public Health has reported an additional 23 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday. There are now 501 total since the outbreak began, and 394 recoveries. A total of 107 cases remain active, with a 17% positive test rate over the past 14 days, which is still above the state’s 15% threshold for schools to request online education if coupled with 10% absenteeism. There are currently four residents hospitalized.
