The CTE Hope Foundation is holding their first annual Tournament for Hope later this month, a golf fundraiser to raise money for the foundation’s mission, to provide hope and support to individuals and families who have suffered from the ill-effects of multiple concussions and traumatic brain injuries. Founder Brenda Easter tells KNIA News the aim of the foundation is to help find solutions for CTE, not only for a cure but for how to help prevent it occurring while playing sports and making them safer overall. A book coming out next week titled Love, Zac: Small-Town Football and the Life and Death of an American Boy written by Reid Forgrave, details the life of Zac Easter, who took his own life rather than continue his losing battle against the traumatic brain injuries sustained as a young man. The golf fundraiser will take place on September 19th at the Arthur Blank Golf Course in Des Moines. For more information on participating, click below.
