The first annual Marion County Suicide Prevention Fun Show will be held today and tomorrow at the Marion County Fairgrounds. It’s a horse show organized by Marley Larson of Knoxville, whose brother committed suicide two years ago while the rest of their family was on their way to a horse show. Larson says that the goal is to promote awareness of suicide prevention while raising money for the cause.
“We are hoping to promote awareness of suicide prevention. We want to let everyone know that everyone is welcome to come. Not just if you are participating in the event. You can come and watch.”
Registration for each show is seven dollars, with proceeds being donated to Your Life Matters. The first show of the day begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Marion County Fairgrounds horse arena in Knoxville. More information can be found here.
