The Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance raised $4,000 for the Pella Fire Department as part of its annual Golf Outing on Friday, August 21st.

Golf Committee Chairs Tim Te Grootenhuis and Vicki Cowman along with committee members Angela Arkema, Sarah Treft, Matt Sherlock, Christi Vander Voort and Karen Eischen once again organized this year’s golf outing with an extra purpose in mind – to give back to those who protect the safety of the community.

Eischen says the PACE Alliance has given back to first responders with each of their golf outings since 2017, and this year, raised their highest amount to date, despite the challenges ongoing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

This event brought together 112 members/golfers, 25 sponsors, 31 volunteers and members of the Central Golf Team for a day of business on the golf course, with members of the Pella Fire Department participating in hole-by-hole challenges and in the tournament itself.
