After two weeks of no activities, sports or even being able to practice, Twin Cedars can resume sports starting on Tuesday. The school announced nearly two weeks ago that it was going to full online learning due to an outbreak of COVID-19 and therefore had to suspend all sports. The football squad has yet to take the field in a game, but is scheduled to take on Winfield-Mt. Union this Friday in its 2020 season opener. The volleyball and cross country squads have also yet to start their respective seasons. Athletic Director and Cross Country Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports the runners have been working out on their own since the suspension. He says he is not allowed to have any contact with his team, but says they have been posting photos on social media of their workouts. Verwers adds new regulations have released for fans attending athletic events at Twin Cedars. Fans are now required to wear a mask at the volleyball matches while football games a mask is still optional but distancing will be strongly encouraged.
