A follow-up community meeting will take place this week for the city and business owners and employees around the Indianola square for an update on the downtown streetscape project. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the project, which had recommendations presented to the council last July by the Downtown Streetscape Steering Committee then was approved in August, will coincide with the Justice Center construction on the square. The meeting is organized by the Indianola Chamber of Commerce, and will detail the plans for the project including the change from one-way to two-way traffic and the addition of bike lanes. The meeting will be on September 10th from 9-10am. For more information, contact the chamber.
