The Indianola football game will have a different opponent this Friday evening for homecoming, as Des Moines Lincoln will not be allowed to play and Western Dubuque will make the long road trip to the Indianola stadium. The Indians week three and four games were in jeopardy due to the Des Moines schools currently being in virtual learning and not allowed to participate in activities. The kickoff this Friday will be an early one at 6pm, with pregame coverage beginning at 5:30pm on 94.3 KNIA.
The Indianola boys golf squad will have a tournament at the Ottumwa Country Club today, along with Burlington, Muscatine, and Norwalk. Head coach Myles Finn tells KNIA Sports each tournament builds towards the teams ultimate goal.
“The first conversation we had with the team was we want to see ourselves at the state tournament. And we don’t want to just see ourselves as individuals, we want to see ourselves there as a team. So what we’ve been working on is making sure everyone on the team is making sure everyone on the squad is shooting low enough scores for us to score well in every single tournament that we are at. We just want to set the bar high for when we get into postseason.”
The tournament begins at noon.
The Indians volleyball squad will also be in action today, hosting the Eagles of Pella Christian in Little Hawkeye Conference play. The Indians fell to Pella in their only conference action of the season, and will look to climb back to .500 in conference play tonight. Action starts at 7:15pm.
