The repeal of a three-hour parking limit on and around the downtown square was approved at the Indianola City Council meeting Tuesday, after an approval of a temporary suspension of enforcement of the policy in July. The council cited reports the parking restriction wasn’t fitting the needs of the businesses on the square, and the lifting of the restriction came from a continued dialogue with local business owners, employees, and the Indianola Chamber of Commerce. The restrictions may be revisited once the construction of the Warren County Justice Center and Downtown Streetscape Project are completed.
