The Indianola football team had a new opponent decided for tonight last Sunday afternoon after Des Moines Lincoln is not allowed to play, and the reigning class 3A champions the Bobcats of Western Dubuque will make the long road trip to Indianola stadium. The Indians are coming off of a thriller against the rival Warriors of Norwalk to get their first win of the season, but will have to contend with a Bobcat squad that likes to spread out the field as much as possible. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports it will be containing the big play that will be key.
“They run a really good scheme. Their screen game is really good so that keeps you honest. They can really challenge you down the field vertically, and they spread the field to make you guard every inch of it. Our guys metanlly have to make sure they are all on the same page with whatever coverage we are going to play. Then I think just like last week we have to get some pressure on the quarterback and make him uncomfortable because when he settles down he is very very good.”
The game tonight can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. The long road trip has prompted an early start, so pregame coverage will begin at 5:30pm and kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.
