The Indianola boys golf squad competed on their home course today, placing third among five teams with a team score of 313. Preston Bily placed 2nd overall and led the Indians with a 72, Casey Daughenbaugh shot a 78, Jackson Overton shot an 80, Cooper Nailor an 83, Nick Campbell an 84, and Max Trembley rounded out the scores with a 91.
Head coach Myles Finn tells KNIA Sports each tournament builds towards the teams ultimate goal.
“The first conversation we had with the team was we want to see ourselves at the state tournament. And we don’t want to just see ourselves as individuals, we want to see ourselves there as a team. So what we’ve been working on is making sure everyone on the team is making sure everyone on the squad is shooting low enough scores for us to score well in every single tournament that we are at. We just want to set the bar high for when we get into postseason.”
The Indians will next golf tomorrow at Southeast Polk.
