The Pella Public Library will offer the program, From the Iowa Caucuses to the White House, presented by Andrew D. Green, a Professor of Political Science at Central College. He will discuss the role of the Iowa Caucus in Presidential election years, the results of the 2016 Iowa Caucus and their effect on the 2016 election, plus developments in the election process for 2020 on Monday, September 28 at 7pm.
After the 2016 election, Dr. Green was approached to write a book with the title, From the Iowa Caucuses to the White House: Understanding Donald Trump’s 2016 Electoral Victory in Iowa, using his insight as an Iowan, a political scientist and lots of data, to determine why Trump won the popular vote in 93 of its 99 counties, 32 of which were carried by Obama in 2012.
This program will be held virtually at 7:00 p.m. as a Zoom presentation. By registering ahead of time for this program at pellalibrary.libcal.com, participants will receive an email with the link to connect. Otherwise, the link will be available on our website that evening.
The presentation is free and open to the public, and all ages are welcome.
