All four Tulip City volleyball and cross country teams are in action tonight, and all are traveling away from the city limits to compete across central Iowa.
Coming off of an uneven weekend in Ballard, the No. 12 in 4A Pella volleyball team travels to Oskaloosa to try and keep their Little Hawkeye Conference record unblemished. Varsity action in the Highway 163 rivalry begins at 7:15 p.m. in Oskaloosa.
Pella Christian will take the long road to Grimes to take on No. 14 in 4A Dallas Center-Grimes, as the Eagles try to build off of a 3-1 day at the Des Moines Christian tournament last Thursday. The Eagles take on the Fillies at 7:30 this evening on the road.
The No. 3 in 3A Pella boys cross country team and the girls just outside the Top 15 will have a de facto preview of the Little Hawkeye Conference meet coming in October — minus the largest (Indianola) and smallest schools in the conference, with Knoxville joining the rest of the Little Hawkeye in Newton this evening. The varsity races are at 5:20 today at the Westwood Golf Course.
Pella Christian will instead be further south on Highway 14 and travel to Monroe for the annual PCM Cross Country Invitational. Racing for the high school athletes will start at 5 p.m. at PCM High School.
