It is a busy day of sports for Twin Cedars. The Sabers volleyball squad off a 2-2 day at the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday. The Sabers will host a triangular against Ankeny Christian and Moulton-Udell. Meanwhile the Cross Country Squad will travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. The Sabers got right back in the swing of things after being forced to shut things down a few weeks ago, and Coach Trent Verwers was pleasantly surprised at how his girls were able to put down stellar times after the quarantine.

“That first meet, we come out and get 2nd place and we have three personal bests and I just had no idea that would happen. I thought the times would be a least a minute slower than last year at this time. It makes you grateful that we have a team like this and it’s easier on me.”

All-Stater Rylee Dunkin is currently ranked eighth in the latest Iowa Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association individual rankings. Action gets underway in Eddyville this afternoon at 4:00.
