The latest update from the City of Indianola shows only a slight growth in the number of cases of the COVID-19 virus since the latest update on September 18th, with two additional cases within city limits and five not within city limits but within the Indianola Fire District, for a total of 290 total cases to affect the city and surrounding fire district since the beginning of the pandemic.
The Iowa Department of Public Health shows Warren County also with limited growth over the weekend with 11 new cases since the September 18th update for 930 overall, with active cases continuing to drop from an overall high of 296 earlier this month and now sits at 273. Warren County has six deaths from the virus.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that might indicate schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Marion County is at 11.3%, while Warren County is at 3.9%. There are currently ten counties currently over the threshold.
