The Indianola City Council recently approved the purchase of a telecommunications system for Indianola City Hall at their most recent meeting, a budgeted expense that will cost the city just over $50,000. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the current system is too outdated to function as needed for the growing city.
“The current telephone system here at city hall is significantly outdated, where the vendor doesn’t even offer support for it. Obviously a reliable phone system for local government is very important, so this was a planned expense to replace it. Our IT staff went through a review of all of our departments to make sure the new system would meet all of our needs at the city including IMU. After that we secured a quote for $53,000 which is under the budgeted amount so that’s great news.”
